Nutrient Rich Beauty Bowl
Have you heard the term ‘Eat the Rainbow’? It’s a lovely metaphor to remember and describes the colorful reality of eating a vast array & full spectrum of pigments or phytonutrients found in vegetables, fruits, legumes and their seeds nuts. This smoothie bowl is a treat and also incredibly nutrient dense with kale for vitamin A, C + K, almond butter, hemp and spirulina for protein. These are just a few of the benefits as this bowl is loaded with important plant based antioxidants plus minerals magnesium & potassium for recovery.
The base of this smoothie bowl is a blend of laciento (or dino) kale, acai, almond butter, blueberries, hemp heart, chia + banana. Your choice of colorful toppings - here we used mango, banana, papaya, lilikoi (passion fruit) chia seeds, goji berries, hemp hearts, spirulina and dried rose petals.
Serves 2-4 (base for smoothie bowl)
1 small bunch dino kale (washed and destemmed)
Acai - unsweetened frozen about 200 grams
Almond butter 2 Tablepsoons - creamy, raw if possible, unsalted
Blueberries 2 handfuls frozen
2 bananas
2 T hemps hearts
2 T chia seeds
coconut water (not milk)
To a vitamix or similar high powered blender, add all ingredients but the acai (beginning with 1 c coconut water) and blitz. Add the acai and more coconut water to desired thickness and blitz until smooth. Divide between bowls and top with your favorite. XOA
